Valerie Savage, CPA, MA, LPC-Intern
focuses on women’s issues, particularly those encountered by working women and women professionals. Valerie’s experience as a business professional and executive greatly influences her approach to therapy. She draws upon her knowledge of relevant issues and concerns that are common among women professionals – stress/anxiety, depression, marital strain, work/life balance and disordered eating For more information regarding Valerie’s counseling training and professional experience, see
Founder Bio.
Valerie recognizes that even the most mentally healthy women face psychological challenges when they are under constant pressure and stress from the high demands of a professional career. Working with clients to navigate life’s challenges and/or heal past hurts is critical to bringing clients to a more stable, productive and satisfying experience of life, both personally and professionally.
THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
Valerie uses a solutions-focused, strengths-based orientation with her counseling clients. Solutions-focused means that the counselor/client relationship is based on identifying solutions to cope with and work through a specific client concern or area or unresolved emotional distress. A strengths-based approach helps clients to recognize and utilize their personal strengths and relational style, building on what is natural and empowering for them.
